Works in every Windows app
Word, Outlook, Teams, Slack, your browser, VS Code, JetBrains IDEs: Lafza pastes at the cursor, so an app doesn’t need to know it exists. A small mic appears by the cursor when you pause, for when you’d rather click than hold keys.
What it adds to built-in Windows voice typing
- A shortcut you choose, held anywhere. Let go and the text goes in.
- A clean-up pass: filler words, false starts, punctuation and grammar.
- Speech that mixes languages stays mixed, and right-to-left text just works.
- WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal voice notes turned into text.
- You choose the speech service: Groq, OpenAI or Deepgram.
Requirements
Windows 10 or 11, on Intel, AMD or ARM (including Windows on Arm laptops). A microphone. A key from a speech service; the setup walks you through a free one from Groq, which needs no card.
Questions
Does it need administrator rights?
Lafza itself runs as a normal user. Windows doesn’t let it type into apps running as administrator, so there your text goes to the clipboard, ready for Ctrl+V.
Will it interfere with calls?
No. The microphone is opened in shared mode only while you record, so meetings carry on, and Lafza never changes your volume or default microphone.
Can I turn it off in games?
Yes. Turn it off for any app in two clicks and that app gets its keys back untouched.
